SKA Provides Emergency Aid to Flood-Affected Families in Afghanistan
Toronto, Canada — In response to the devastating floods that recently struck Afghanistan, the Sayed Kayan Association (SKA) organized a humanitarian initiative to support families who suffered heavy human and material losses.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Association’s leadership convened an emergency meeting to assess the damage and launched an international fundraising appeal among its members. The appeal was met with generosity and solidarity, as members from Canada and across the globe contributed funds to assist the victims. SKA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who donated.
Transparent and Organized Distribution
A local distribution committee was established in Afghanistan to ensure aid reached those most in need. With full transparency and proper oversight, food packages were delivered in Baghlan Province between May 29 and June 2, 2024 (9–13 Jawza 1403).
Each relief package included:
- 1 bag of flour (50 kg)
- 1 bag of rice (25 kg)
- 1 bottle of cooking oil (5 liters)
In total, 750 families across several areas of Baghlan Province received assistance:
- 234 families in Sheikh Jalal, Laqiha, and Qandahariha
- 105 families in Larkhaw Valley, Doshi District
- 150 families in Karte Ettefaq, Pul-e Khumri
- 200 families in Karte Abdul Rahman, Pul-e Khumri
- 11 families in Cheshmeh Shir
- 10 families in Kayan Valley, Doshi District
- 40 families in Folool Valley, Burka District
